Besal is just below the Babu Sar Top. This is the 'suburbs'. A zirarat (shrine - with the red flag) and the remains of the old British guest house. Besal 'bazaar' wasn't very much more. A handfull of open roofed stone huts. In the summer, when shepards (Gujars and Koochies) use the high meadows, shop keepers put canvas roof on the huts and they are supply stores and a tea house/restaurant. When we arrived just the stone remained of the wall of the huts, like open pens. With the soon approaching winter, town had 'closed up' about 2 weeks before.
