"WHITE CAPS 33 55 is a 1990 boat and she hails from Layfayette, LA. I bought a used NexGen 3.5 KW generator and wired and installed it myself. It runs our 12.5K btu air cond/heater with enough left over for a mircrowave or other items. Down in the South you really need AC. I mounted it in the port lazzarette, which already had stringers (from the factory) for a gen set.
In one of the pictures below we are crossing the Gulf of Mexico from Naples FL to Pensacola FL. We were only 10 hours behind Hurricane Arlene in 2005! We had owned the boat a week and went through five Hurricanes that summer including Katrina! The seas were 7 ft and we followed the hurricane to Pensacola where it hit the day before. We actually hit a 9.5 knot boat speed on a broad reach. What a ride and we never got wet!!!!"
"I think they only made 65 or so of the 33. The first were made in 1988 and ended around 1995 (ed. 354s in '95). The 33 is offered with a single forward cabin and with an open layout, which includes a large double quarter berth on the starb. side under cockpit seats. The 33 was also offered in a two cabin layout, where the rear quarter berth is enclosed with a wall and on the starboard side when you walk down the companion way there is a door leading into the aft cabin. Also some had a two chair layout with nav table opposite the large U shape couch or, like ours, another smaller couch with a nav station table aft of that couch. You sit on the end of the quarter berth while at the nav station."
