Royse City is located at the intersection of 3 Texas counties, Rockwall, Collin, and Hunt.

The area was first settled in 1885 when people found out the railroad would be coming this way. Om 1886 G B Royse platted the city and began to sell lots. Many people moved here from nearby Fate which the railroad bypassed. By the turn of the century cotton became king. The town continued to grow until the 1960's when a decline began because of the construction of I-30

By the year 2000, as a result of it's suburban Dallas location the town began to grow and that growth has continued.
