Tsarevets - The fortification for Bulgarian kings of the second Bulgarian kingdom

The river Yantra, as it runs through the city of Veliko Tarnovo, forms a natural semi island, which, after being fortified by the Bulgarian tsars, has been used as their power base. It is called Tsarevets (Tsar's place)

It's not Slavic title! It's pure Bulgarian!!! The title "tsar" (and its Byzantine Greek equivalent "basileus") was adopted and used for the first time by Simeon I.

No, please keep it Tsar. Despite their russophobia, the Bulgars should keep their strong slavic roots in order to survive the modern Euro-German and Turkic squeeze. Nice pix!

Better rename the Gallery to "Medieval residence of the Bulgarian emperors ..." (tzar = emperor)
