On the 5D and the 20D, the center focus center has both the horizontal and vertical sensor arrays. They become active when a lens with a maximum aperture of f5.6 or faster (ex. f4) is detected.

In addition to that, if a lens with a maximum aperture of f2.8 or faster (ex. f2) is detected, an additional horizontal array is activated to provide 3X of precision over the other sensor arrays.

what does that mean?// that the center is only sensitive to 2.8 and 5.6 on the 5D camera. what do you mean. thanks. jerry
