MOTH - (AILANTHUS WEBWORM, ATTEVA PUNCTELLA)

This moth (a little less than 3/4" long) was on the side of a truck at my local Ford dealer. Very interesting coloration. These moths fold their antennae under their wings when they are resting. If you look closely at the image, you can see part of the right antenna, just forward of the right rear leg (it's a lighter color than the legs).

ISO 200. No PP noise reduction. Aperture Priority. Tele-macro engaged. Stabilizer setting #2. Other camera settings were: Contrast: +1; Sharpness: 0; Saturation: +1; Noise Reduction: 0. Cropped and modified in PhotoShop Elements 5.0.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18
1/400s f/6.3 at 81.1mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

That's one I haven't seen. Really quite beautiful.
