One of the larger birds found in Western North Carolina. Several of them eat regularly at our suet feeder.

These large birds "spook" very easily and have extremely good eyesight. This photo was taken at an angle through a double-glass pane, 6 feet away from the window, causing a slight distortion. ISO 800. 35mm equivalent focal length of 300mm. "Normal" setting. "Standard Color" mode.
