Garter Snake pit

It is very obvious that one snake appears responsible for maintaining a watch over the snake den, which is very difficult to obtain a true head count. An estimate could possibly vary between ten and twenty. Eastern Ontario

Not my favorite animal, but a good shot nevertheless. I will have to be careful when I go to Eastern Ontario. V

Wonderful shot of these beautiful guys. I would love to see this! This spring I saw about 12, but they were moving through leaf litter, obviously they'd just left a den site (or pit). Great find!! BV
