Red-tailed Hawk in early autumn....

Moments prior, it left this perch and made a nose dive into the surrounding grass only to come back empty handed, except for a few blades of grass which it was still clutching in its talons, as seen. It continues in full hunting mode.......Fall colours are well in evidence.
