A dragon isn't just a dragon - a Vietnamese dragon is closer to looking like a Chinese dragon (I'm not an academic on this point; it's just observation) and a Lao Dragon has strong similarities to a northern Thai dragon. The top of the head, and the general shape are very different. I've never seen a Lao or Thai dragon looking playful.
