Canadian side. Above the Falls, there are white-water rapids and it sounds like distant surf. There is an intake for a hydro-electricity power plant just upstream from here. The water slides over flat ground, just above the Falls, then drops abruptly, 53 metres, with the water depth below the surface about the same measurement.
