Big Boy Now

This young red stallion has come to the age and gained enough confidence to challenge the veteran pinto stallion. Perhaps he is over estimating his prowess and strength: the black and white stallion is one of the desert's most powerful and dangerous males.

Wow He's gorgeous! Nice shot! I like when you date the pics and love your comments. I'm glad you were able to go out to see them recently.

The mustangs hooves do look trimmed. They live in a rocky desert and spend a lot of time navigating the rocky ridges (especially in winter, foraging for food where the wind blows away the snow).

I have never seen a wild horse with sloppy overgrown hooves.

Being a horse owner I couldn't help notice the hoofs. They are so nicely trimmed.
I have always wondered how wild horses keep their hoofs from over growing.
