Cool shot and a bit exotic. Makes me think of "Myst". I orignally had the same thought about the lit area at the right, but when I tried to picture it uncropped, I think it may not have been as effective; almost like it was forced into the frame. Of course, you never know for sure until you try.
On the other hand, I think cropping about 2/3 of the wall to the left, and a some off the bottom might give the shot a bit more "drama" as it gets the opening off center.

Very well done: an obvious element for the theme but composed to go beyond the obvious. I miss the end of the lit area from the right, but still a good capture. MCsaba
