Laziness can ruin a planned SHORT (2-3hrs) day in the shop, and turn it into a LONG (9.5hrs) day. Rather than jack the car up properly to remove AC components, I tried using the frunk (front-trunk) support. I have done this countless times with no problems. This time, the car slid backwards off the jack pad landing the radiator support on the jack arm. The lower radiator support was bent into a "w" moving the radiator up 3-4cm. The radiator jumping that distance, bent the upper radiator supports and the front bumper brace. The front lip support was completely crushed. All of whice meant I had to spend the next 6 hours disassembling/repairing the damage to the front end. Not to mention another hour or two reassembling the front end. (Zipties are fasteners, right?) BEFORE I got around to removing the AC components.
On the bright side: the front bumper is gutted now,the headlights are gone, and the covers are ready to be welded in place.
