I have never been to one of these before, But am sure looking forward to seeing more.
This event, as is obviously shown, is an intertribal Pow Wow. A get - together of multiple tribes, as well as some of the colonial aspects.
The word Pow Wow is a Narragansett word meaning Religious ritual of the singing, dancing and feasting.
* The man traditional dancer preforms movements of animals or birds.
* The man fancy dancer is fast paced and colourful with fancy footwork.
* The man grass dancer mimics the movements of the blades of grass.
* The woman's traditional dancer is very graceful and dignified. Their costumes range from buckskin to cloth.
* The woman's jingle dress dancer costume is decorated by the many cone shaped tobacco can tops, a decorating task that was to heal it's wearer and everyone surrounding the wearer by The Great Spirit.
* The woman's fancy dancers are energetic, sith shaws swinging and twirling to a fast pace.
The speciality dances include war, round, crow hop, two-step, snakeswan and honor. These are all social dances and all were allowed to participate.(including audiance.)
Thank you for inviting me to view your Pow Wow galleries. It's exciting to see such a great heritage and tradition preserved and continued. Thanks for sharing,

I think it would be best to call their dress ' regalia' instead of "costumes."
Thank You, Niawen
