LONG BRANCH FACTORY








This is the famous LONG BRANCH arsenal and or firearms manufacturing site in Toronto Canada.

Home of the LONG BRANCH Sten Submachine gun and the LONG BRANCH Lee Enfield rifle.

After the war/s Korean and WWII the factory served many duties.

Most recent was that of a distribution center for Canada Post.

Then once again in true Canadian fashion we tore it down.

One small portion of the facility still stands as a Police facility of some kind.

Also as you will see the backstop and the water tower remain.

how can i find out if my enfield no4mki* was used in ww2 it is not stamed us property but it was manufactured in 1943 @ long branch

Please try .303 British Rifle No4 Handbook for identification. Produced by Ian Skinnerton. The books order number is ISBN 0 949749 68 0.
Most British army Longbranch No4 1* were converted post war to No4 1/2. Look for FTR(F)year stamp.= Factory Total Rebuild( Fazakerly) year stamp.

Hi Mr Clark.
I have just purchased a LONGBRANCH LEE ENFIELD No/. 4 Mk 1* and have managed to read the various stamps on the gun, and would like to know if there is any book available that will enable me to decipher these marks and learn the history of the weapon? Thanks for yor time and help
