Sir I am also interested about photography of insect &spider.I have 243 kinds of live spider in my house.I am just craze on spider.Now I am working on ant mimic spider.I have many pictures of them that I want to share with you.Your pictures are are incredible in a word.I loves spider than my life.

seriously I've been searching forever and can't find a website that shows more than a few spiders and most are about Australian spiders. I live in idaho and want to know what the heck kind of spider I keep killing at work. (sorry spider lovers.) they scare the crap out of me.

I have this yellow and black striped spider outside my door. It weaves a kind of thicker zig zag pattern within it's web.

I was going through the wood pile taking out the actual wood. I found a brown spider with like redish/purple color legs...and it was the size of a dime..wanted to know and see pictures of spiders so that I can know what kind I have in my yard and if there dangerous or not. I have one kid who has friends coming over all the time and 2 dogs. Have to be safe.

They are not tomato. They are parasitic mites. They suck others animals blood.

Walker- There are 4 harvestman spiders on this page so far. One is covered with parasitic mites, one is eating a mosquito, and the other two are just portraits.

I love your images! I'm an artist and Naturalist (entomology-oriented) with the City of Seattle in Washington. I've been looking for recommendations of moderately priced digital cameras that will take extreme closeup shots of Tegenaria spp. and other spiders. I just found your site thanks to a friend, and your photos are amazing. I have been trying Macro Photography now for a year. I use a Canon 10D with a Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro. I've gotten some cool shots, but very few of this overall quality. I can't believe you get this kind of detail out of the "Canon Powershot". You sir are a professional in my book.

I read your macrophotography tutorial and the answer to my question was there. Nice setup you have, simple. I love macro photography and will look into a setup similar to yours; bracket, flash kit, and I need to find my old Pentax screw mount lenses so I can reverse mount mine as well. Now where is my Pentax SP1000 with those lenses? hmm
