The town of Soda Springs is proud to have the world's only "captive geyser," created in 1937 by a firm that
drilled into one of several local hot springs, hoping to supply a new bathing resort. Instead, they deranged the underground plumbing
enough to decrease the flow to an existing resort, and ended up capping their new geyser. It now tamely "erupts" on the hour.
