Since 1985, I had been curious about the rocky dirt road paralleling the freeway between Inkom and McCammon,
accessed from an informal truck stop on the north side of Highway 30 at McCammon. Turns out it will be fun to try it
in summer, fall, and winter (for ski and snowshoe exercise before soaking at Lava Hot Springs).
In spring, it will be way too wet and soft. This September shot shows the abundant matchbrush in bloom;
at different times we should see yarrow (maybe irises), onions, cacti, and penstemons.
