The Train Home

I like the sense of solitude, distance, and chill - maybe foreboding - that the image conveys. While the full frame conveys information, ones attention is first drawn to the bright train headlight, stumbling over the lone woman along the way. Once seen she is irresistable creating a visual tension as the eye goes between her and the light. Only with effort does one see that she is, in fact, the only person at the station - the right side platform also dark and empty. A technical challenge to see and position myself for the shot, get the details of the shaded areas without blowing the train-lit areas too badly, to do it in one take (not a model). An instant before she had been facing the far platform, As she turned toward the train I saw the shot and took it.
