I discovered this hot spring off a dirt road in Tecopa on my first visit to the area in 2006. This time someone had left a chair which I suppose makes it easier to put your shoes back on.
I was drawn to the incongruity of this bright yellow chair alone in the desert oasis as well. I used a vertical approach which included more of the geometry of the hot spring as context. However my image did not express the degree of incongruity I wanted. Your approach, which merely implies the presence of the hot spring and stresses the palm and the desert beyond instead, expresses a entirely different idea: the lonely chair, waiting for the next customer who may still be months away. A wonderful solution, Tim.
