I like how you isolated the island to create this magic. The light is magnificent and does suggest a dream of fairyland. I want to go there!

On golden pond becomes a golden fairyland. The castle created by the peaks on the island completes this very magical, dream like image.

You have your own style, using color in muted form to communicate with delicacy. That works beautifully here, since your intent is to express nature as a fairyland, and you do it brilliantly with subtlety. I was shooting this with you, and once again, my mood is more abstract and thus more mysterious, because of my deliberate underexposure and handling of the color. (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/103633075 ) I abstracted the scene through light, and isolate the little island entirely, while you link it to the point of land that reaches out for it. The channel that you create between the two is magical and creates an electric tension that draws the eye and holds it.

Fantastic! Crater Lake is world famous for its blue water, and you've captured it as shimmering gold! V
