This is another example of star-streak at 14mm and a 20 second exposure but this time the 100% sample is taken exactly dead center where there the elongation is less pronounced.

FWIW I experimented by using a 'motion blur removal' PS plug-in and compositing just the sky. Given that elongation varied center to side edge, the results varied.
