A good friend accidentally found this postcard sized contact print of 1926 Lake George, NY. It had been exposed to the elements and stapled to the wall of a collapsed barn outside Greenville, South Carolina.
Ironically the photo was taken from the balcony when and where my friend's father was raised.
Given its condition, some of the detail that emerged is amazing. It was scanned, edited and printed poster sized for casual display at some acquaintances' homes.
One unusual aspect of the original photo is the bizarre discrepancy in the scale of the objects on the lower far-left of the power pole and those on the right side.
I can’t even account for this even assuming a poorly adjusted tilt-shift lens. Enter Photoshop to alleviate my consternation.
