CanYou-DoThis.jpg

Ambigram: A design that can be read as the same (or sometimes different) word, name or phrase when oriented by some form of symmetry.
This can be when reflected along a vertical/horizontal axis or when rotated through 180 degrees. The latter, in this case.

I believe it was an Omni Magazine article(s?) that inspired me to create an ambigram long before Dan Brown's popular novels.
'Can You - Do This' was originally conceived and executed by me in the 80's as an optional challenge to my Studio in Art classes. It was hand done in a more-or-less oriental-like font...probably less.
Overall, the 'challenge' was seldom attempted as it is generally a very difficult design process. This is harder than you might think:)

This latest iteration is a take-off of the design style by Robert Langdon in Brown's 'Angels and Demons'/'The Da Vinci Code' and done in 2004. It was executed in Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator with the background added in Photoshop.
