There is much more to tell about fractals than in a few sentences. As simple as it gets, fractals are generated as a mathematical formulas with a lot of iterations. Also, the details you see by zooming into fractal are infinite and usually contains small copies of themselves, by looking deep into the structure. There are a lot of fractal generators, which can help getting the desired shapes and colors.
It is important to say that some fractal patterns are easily found in the nature
Some say that looking at the form you like can be positive for the one's overall mental feeling.
Just experiment and enjoy...
