Pileated Woodpecker 20080531

(Dryocopus pileatus)

Kind of an interesting effect resulting from the slow shutter speed, the lens IS, the bird's
movement, and shallow depth of field. This is essentially the way the shot came out of the camera.

Photographed at the Dominion Arboretum in Ottawa, Ontario - the capital of Canada.

An impressionist image that certainly emphasizes light and movement while portraying an essence of the bird. Well done.
