Ring-necked Duck

The Ring-necked Duck, or Blackjack to hunters, is a common winter sight across TN on quiet bodies of water. Ring-billed Duck would have probably been a better name for the bird. These are vere agile ducks, being unusual for a diver in being able to rise straight up out of the water.
