I made a quick trip over to Red Slough over the weekend, for the Yellow Rail rope drag that David Arbour had generously put together. I've only seen one Yellow Rail, years ago, and really wanted to try for some decent flight shots. You will see how that turned out.

In addition to multiple Yellow Rails, birding in general was great, with great company. I birded most of Saturday with Jeff Wilson over in eastern AR, making the drive west Saturday afternoon.

For anyone looking for Yellow Rail and doesn't mind just a little driving over there, Red Slough is about as sure a thing as there is around this part of the country. Getting a bird to freeze on the ground may be a different story though.........glad I made the trip when I did.
