Cooper's Hawk

Carroll Co TN

This is a juvenile Cooper's Hawk. Notice the very light streaking on the underparts, with the belly being unstreaked. Only the lightest of juvenile Sharpie's could approach this, as they typically have much heavier streaks that go down through the belly. The white blotches on the scapulars are somewhat exaggerated by the feathers being ruffled.
