Consider yourself lucky when you look across a grassy field and see even this much of a Sprague's Pipit exposed!

I had only been outside the car a couple of minutes when this bird flew from the ditch behind me, calling overhead out into the field. Knowing Sprague's call is a huge plus in being able to locate them.
