The Czechoslovakia-designed L-39 is the most widely used jet trainer in the world, as well as being an effective light-attack aircraft. It was the backbone of the Warsaw Pact nations and Soviet allies training for many years. It is very popular in private hands, being a very inexpensive, high-performance jet.
