TRANSITION #29

ABANDONED HOME BY THE RAIL-YARDS? MAYBE JUST WAITING FOR NIGHTFALL.

I HAVE BEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE AND HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO PLAN A 'TRANSITION' PHOTO SO WILL USE WHAT PHOTOS I TOOK ON THESE LAST FEW WEEKS. IT MAY BE A STRETCH GETTING THE MEANING OUT OF THE PHOTO TO MATCH THE CHALLENGE BUT I WILL TRY TO MAKE THEM WORK.

We had a guy in our town who was a Viet Nam Vet and he used to push a grocery cart all over town. It had all his belongings in it neatly folded and in plastic bags. He would talk to himself as he walked and could often be seen sleeping on the benches at a local field where I would sometimes walk the dogs. He died of exposure one winter several years ago. I had not thought of him for a long time. Your image brought his face and name to my mind. He was called Theo. Photography can be a powerful thing!

Maybe a homeless person? That would be a transition albeit not a pleasant one. Good eye to see this scene and photograph. It is a great composition and thought provoking as well. V.

Perhaps the pretty grove of trees is transitioning into a dump. I hope not. Great eye to see the paradox.

Strange juxtaposition, but strange in such an interesting way, the beauty of these woods with the filtering light and the shiny black of the garbage bag and the supermarket cart with the red handle and child seat, one wheel awkwardly tilted--all convey the transitional passage from a preindustrial to a postindustrial economy. Marvelous focus here.
