A Chinese Country Wedding

Eating/Drinking Happiness Wine is what the Chinese call their wedding ceremony. On Monday of this week we got a call inviting us to the wedding in the countryside of the elder sister of one of my wife's students. On Wednesday we went to the outskirts of a nearby village to join in the festivities. The bride and groom are both from farming families and the wedding dinner took place at the home of the groom which is also the new home of the bride.

Enjoyed your pictures. I was fortunate enough in 1988 to see a bride in her red wedding gown. But when back in China in 2001, only white gowns in evidence.
