The Church of Luins

Luins - Vaud (Switzerland)

For Barbara

There is a little story, as always, behind this photo.
This morning, I got up lazily,
as it’s delightful doing on winter Saturdays.
While we were trying to decide where to go for a walk
and for a cup of coffee,
I gave a look at my Pbase pages
and I found the gentle comment from a very nice lady ,
who, besides being a very creative photographer,
knows also, obviously, the region where I live.
She mentioned a village, asking me if it was not too far from my place
and sharing with me some light memories she had about that.
The decision was easily taken.
We went to that small village, called Luins.
It was a very cold and nicely bracing January day,
exactly how I like it.
I took several photos, even though the village itself is incredibly small,
all nested among vineyards, on the hills overlooking the lake.
This is the photos of the village church,
since Barbara remembered
“ a massive square church tower”.
Thank you, Barbara, for suggesting me in an indirect way
the destination of our morning walk.

PS.
Unluckily I had to upload this photo again
and all the comments it had already received were deleted...

So much character and familiarity. As old as the vines, so European. I love it!
