My Dad's Desk

My parents'home

"Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad"
***
My Dad is old now, but age has made us closer in a way,
as we had started having interchangeable roles.
It’s moving for me and it makes me smile with tenderness at the same time,
when I’m at my parents’ home and I perceive the repetition of little usual gestures that
speak to me of their daily serene routine.
He has many pairs of glasses and regularly looses them.
So often he asks loudly “Where are my glasses, who has seen my glasses, please?”
And Mum always answers “They are on your desk surely!”
Actually his glasses are always on his desk.

A lovely composition. I love these meaningless little quirks of my father's, and they become quite endearing. V

Wonderful lighting and subtle PS work enhances the intimacy here.

I lost my father seven years ago and I still won't let my mother move his pipes from his favorite chair. This reminds me of that feeling.
