I don’t need to take long trips to find a cosmopolitan atmosphere. I simply need to come out from my cosy troglodytic cave early in the morning and to roam about this little street.
The news agent, where I can buy newspapers and magazines from all over the world is Iranian, the ice-cream parlour owner is Italian; my neighbours next door are Catalans, the ones downstairs Chinese.
The manager of the Pub under my windows (of which I’d do happily without) is Irish.
The whole staff of our favourite café is Portuguese and this young lady in particular is the most adorable and perfect waitress one might only dream of.
She works hard, but obviously she likes her job, she’s quick, but never stressed, she smiles to everybody and she can remember all the habits and tastes of her patrons.
Ah, of course, there is also some other Swiss, besides us…
All that within 200 metres…why should I take any trip to know the world? I have my street!
All the photos of this series, which should be considered a homogenous work, compose a visual description of my very personal idea of summer. Each photo is posted on the same day it’s taken, they have all square format.
You might see also the others, if you have time.
