How many theatres are there in Avignon?
It’s hard to say...we counted at least 20; they are all small, hidden with strange and evocative names.
A little theatre is nested in a courtyard, another one in what apparently looks like a garage...There are theatres under arcades which might have maybe just 30 seats for audience.
This one is surely the main one, in the nice Place de l’Horloge, the heart of the town.
