Air-to-Air with a Bear

Air-to-Air with a Bear. Polar Bear Is a very rare North American P-51A Mustang owned by Gerry Gabe and flown by Dave Morss.

The shoot was fun and also a bit challenging, sitting in the back seat of a WW2 trainer, a T-6 Texan, with the canopy open there was a lot of buffeting from the wind, lots of noise, cold, very limited space to move in and some vibrations from pushing the T-6 to keep up with the faster P-51 Mustang; oh and add in wearing a helmet. I had tried to set up some of the maneuvers in advance but it didn't all work the way I had planed. It would be nice if you could just stick your head outside the airplane for a moment…lol. I've herd some say all you have to do is sit there and shoot...HAHAHAHA yeah right! It's a challenging environment but also a very rewarding.

A BIG THANK YOU to Gerry Gabe, Karen and Dave Morss for giving me the opportunity to shoot the rare P-51A, Polar Bear. It was a beautiful day, beautiful aircraft and a wonderful group of people to work with!
