Sarcococca hookeriana var humilis

Dunn Gardens, Seattle, WA

Sarcococca hookerana var. humilis is an evergreen, clumping,
dwarf shrub, to 18" tall and 3' wide. Foliage is a glossy dark green,
which can become light green in high pH soils. Sweetly fragrant
white flowers are tinged with pink, 1/2" wide, hidden in the leaf axils,
and bloom in early spring. Inconspicuous small, shiny, black drupes (fruit)
from fall to winter.
