My son is starting college next week, studying fine art and design.
The list of materials required included a digital camera.
He's not particularly interested in photography so I didn't feel like splashing out on a DSLR.
I didn't like any of the budget compacts - they look very small and fiddly for big hands - so I got him a FujiFilm bridge camera instead.
It seems easy to use and the results aren't bad.
This photo of Fudge, taken in poor enough light, is straight out of the camera, with just cropping and sharpening.
I shot it using the 'intelligent auto' mode as I didn't have time to figure out the settings.
