Although the weather has turned colder and there's talk of snow,

Here too! After a foot of snow we had 60+ degrees and the daffodils are trying to pop up. This weekend it should be in the single digits Fahrenheit!

I wish I would see some leaves emerging. Beautiful complementary colors and such an image of hope in the dreary month of January. I like the portrait framing too. V.

Good detail, good colour... and good angle giving just a bit of the back of the pot to stand out against, with a more open space beyond that to break up the background. This type of shot probably works better when the background is broken up a bit like that, even when it's beyond the focus range.
