Netsuke

After he read 'The Hare With Amber Eyes' which traces a family's history through a nutsuke collection, my husband longed to get some of these miniature Japanese wood carvings for himself. As luck would have it we found a few in an antique shop in Carlingford. While they are most likely modern reproductions, they do convey the wonderful detail which went into these intricate carvings.

Oh boy! I used to collect them. I was a member of the Netsuke society too! Great shot! V.
