Heading Back To Sea

The little niece who has been staying with us for the past few days is obsessed with fishing.
Give her a net and a rock pool and hours of enjoyment are guaranteed.
We went to Carlingford today and she fished off the pier, catching crabs, shrimps and
even some tiny fish. When it was time to go home, she happily emptied her bucket
so that they could return to safety. This guy scuttled over the pier and hopefully
landed safely in the sea below.
I'm behind with commenting and as the gremlins have hit Pbase again, I'll try to
catch up tomorrow.

Wonderful close-up! And as always, I love reading the story that goes with it. v

What a fascinating creature. Nice you were able to photograph him before he disappeared!

Excellent sharp detail, with just the right depth.

Seaside bling - a diamond encrusted crustacean - cool!

I've never seen (or noticed) barnacles on a crab before. I like to 'over the shoulder' view as it looks like it's gazing out to sea.
