More Poppies

I've been neglecting my Photo A Day addiction lately. The weather has been lousy and I've hundreds of photos to upload from our holiday in Adalucia. A late burst of sunshine so I grabbed my camera as we took Fudge for his evening walk.

The ultra-shallow DOF makes for a very ethereal feel; one which fits nicely with poppies and their association with the battlefields of WW I. I was a little surprised that it was SO shallow at f/5.6 until I noticed the focal length of 300mmm; yup, that'll do it. I forgot that you have a 300mm lens somewhere in the bottom of your bag. Very useful for this kind of shallowing effect.
