The Louth Contemporary Musical Society was born and to date it has brought top composers and musicians such as Philip Glass, Arvo Part, and Terry Riley to Dundalk. They have commissioned new works and produced two CDs which have received rave reviews.
Tonight I went to see the Sirin Choir from Russia perform in St Nicholas' Church (the Green Church) in Dundalk. It was the perfect setting for a concert of music including Russian Orthodox Church Chants and Spiritual Verses to contemporary works by John Tavener, Ivan Moody and Arvo Part.
