04-SEP-2010

We've been having a beautiful Indian summer with sunny days and warm evenings.
But of course it rained today, almost non-stop, with laden grey clouds. I did well
to get Fudge out for a couple of short walks between showers but it was a wash out
as far as photography was concerned.
Even a trip to the Flower Market to meet some friends for coffee failed to yield
anything interesting.
This was the best I could salvage which has me pondering the wisdom of posting
every day - maybe I should be less obsessive and skip the odd day when I have
nothing worthy to show for my troubles.

I really, really like this shot! Well framed, nice lighting, particularly nice in the sepia tone and has such a nostalgic feel to it! V.

Wait, it is a beautiful composition, rich in color and texture, seen in a soft light, giving beautiful reflections. the shapes are graceful. A charming capture!! VVV

Of course if you want to guarantee an Indian summer you need to go to India! Nice shot though.

no need to be frustrated if for some reason your plans don't work out...it is not necessary to post daily...on the other hand, a bit of self-imposed pressure can lead you to consider fresh subjects...as here with this delightful jumble of crockery portrayed in such a classy fashion...V

A great example of inspiration born out of desperation. This is really lovely and the sepia toning gives this image an elegant, vintage look. Don't sell yourself short, Mairead! ~V~

Not that I'm one to give advice on this (though my recent slackness has been the result of NON-Photographic frustrations), but I think you sell some of these shots short. In this one, for example, you have a great mood created in the sepia-like tones; feels a bit 1930'sish. It's something a little bit different to what you usually do, and this kind of experimentation is always a good thing no matter what the result.
