Still leaning

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is still breathtaking even though
it's not leaning quite as much as it was when we first saw it
19 years ago. It began to lean even before construction was
finished due to the sandy subsoil of Pisa and numerous attempts
were made to correct its imbalance down the centuries.
A £20million project was completed in 2001 which succeeded in
bringing the lean back to what it was in 1838 and the tower has been
reopened to the public.

An interesting and detailed shot of the Tower! I agree with Bill - that Cherub seems to be pushing up the Tower ... great composition ... ~V~

You know, in the new Photoshop CS5 (which I've just put a dent in my bank account by buying) you don't even need to use the ruler tool any more to straighten that. 8^> This is a good arrangement. It roughly divides the frame up nicely into three uneven segments between the sculpture, the tower and just the right sized sliver of sky on the left.

I heard it was reopened. Great pic, but where is your son... he should be here with outstretched arms... holding the tower upright. LOL BV

Shot from the perfect angle. A very clever juxtaposition.

Lovely light and excellent details both on the statue and the tower. The cherub's left foot seems to be holding up the tower. V
