A visitor to our Garden

Woke up this morning to a dusting of snow but it soon melted under the
rays of the sun and was long gone by the time I was ready to venture out.
It's still very cold by Irish standards with temperatures hovering just above
freezing and there is a constant stream of visitors to the bird feeders.
I foolishly thought that once I got my 70-300mm lens that I would be
taking marvellous photographs of birds like many other pbasers but soon
discovered that it's much more difficult than I'd thought. Our feeders are
in a somewhat shaded spot beside an overhanging shrub, perfect for the birds,
but not ideal for photography.
This Great Tit was one of the many visitors we had today, along with Blue Tits,
Coat Tits, Sparrows, Robins and Blackbirds.

LOL I know what you mean. Time to bring in the studio lighting. Having said that this shot is not bad at all.

Looks like a great variety of bird food for your back yard visitors! This bird reminds me of our Chickadee with a yellow coat! Nicely captured, Mairead. V~

This is wonderful Mairead! I am still struggling with my 70-300mm lens too. Your DOF is perfect! V.
