Coming up roses

Still sniffling but at least I got out and about today. There was a dog to be walked, groceries to be purchased and photos to be taken. I did pull out of the proposed photo meet-up at Knockabbey Gardens but hopefully we'll do it again some time.
It always amazes me how miserable the common cold makes you feel, while at the same time, it makes me appreciate the fact that overall I enjoy good health.
Of course, one can't reach for a tissue these days without being asked if one has swine flu. There's disinfectant gel at work, in public buildings and schools. Not wanting to underestimate the potential seriousness of swine flu, I can't help thinking that it was a great 'silly season' story and hopefully it won't turn out to be as bad as was predicted.

The beauty of the box belies the discomfort of the illness. It's a misery I'd just as soon avoid. I'm going to get a flu shot as soon as they're available!

Wish you speedy return to "normal" I had two of those since a month? But not that bad a few days of agressivness each time. :)

Having just passed through the winter & swine flu season & having members of our family with it, believe me it is not easily shrugged off. Be wise, take extra care about places where the masses gather, carry the small packs of hand sanitiser & use them...often.
My pet peeve is parents who no longer teach their children to cover their mouths when coughing !!!

Good to hear you on the mend...colds are just misery and do make you feel low....Its good to have the gel around and especially when you have been in the city or on public transport...not just for the threat of swine flu but other nasties just waiting to get us...Great shot Mairead...BV

For all you know you might have had it already and shrugged it off. Great image to represent your story. Very Posh tissues indeed. :-)

the extracted tissue here hints at an affected individual...and the colours are a bit porcine...perhaps it's all a media frenzy...perhaps it's a real threat to the health of an already enfeebled populace...best swab on the gel after all...what's next...V
